Principal's Message

Welcome to Shelyn Elementary School! 

 

It is with heartfelt joy and gratitude that I introduce myself as the new principal of Shelyn Elementary School and welcome you to the 2026–2027 school year. 

 

Joining the Shelyn community feels especially meaningful because this school holds a special place in my heart. More than two decades ago, I began my educational journey here as a student teacher. Returning now as principal is truly a full-circle moment, and I am honored to serve the school and community that helped shape the educator I am today.

 

Over the past 22 years, I have had the privilege of serving as a classroom teacher, program specialist, site administrator, and educational leader. These experiences have reinforced my commitment to cultivating a school where every student feels valued, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential. 

 

At Shelyn Elementary, we believe that strong partnerships among students, families, staff, and the community are essential to student success. We are committed to fostering a welcoming environment built on trust, collaboration, and open communication. 

 

As we continue to build on Shelyn's many strengths, our focus remains on providing engaging and joyful learning experiences, supporting the whole child, and ensuring every student has the opportunity to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Together with our dedicated staff and supportive families, we look forward to inspiring lifelong learners and preparing students for a bright future.
