At Shelyn we love robots, engineering and collaborative learning, and, now, we get to combine all those things as our first graders embark on a learning adventure with the play-i robot Bo!
First grade teacher Debbie Ong wrote a grant to secure funding for enough robots to allow first grade students to work in small teams of four to program their robots to accomplish certain challenges. The newly developed robots allow students to progress into more complicated programming as they master each level. Our hope is to expand up the primary grades in the coming years.
This program will provide a base which can then be built upon by our upper grade robotics program in future years!
