Follow this pattern all the way through the story.

Wearing a costume on Halloween is not mandatory. But many students like having their friends at school see their costume so we have "Characters on parade" starting at 8:30 on Wednesday morning.
The students have voted to buy Pizza for the class for their CELEBRATE THE HARVEST party. Please send $5.00, this will cover their pizza, drinks, and a small dessert, plus the cost of paper plates and cups and napkins. For those students that do not celebrate Halloween, do not keep them home. Except for the characters on parade (when they will read in the library), the other lessons for that day are fun but not Halloween oriented. So your child would miss some great lessons in the classroom if they stayed home all day.

SPELLING ; At home practice spelling test- The student gets a parent to say the words, while the student writes each word on a separate piece of paper . All 20 words are spelling words! Once all twenty spelling words have been written, compare how the student wrote the word to the correct word on the spelling list . Any word that is not spelled correctly, should be written correctly 10 times. Parent signs the paper and student brings it in for the teacher to see.
