LANGUAGE-- Rewrite your Scary Story by cutting it apart and gluing it onto the yellow paper. Start with the first sentence. cut it out glue it on the yellow paper. Think of any details that will help to create a picture in the reader's mind, write them on the yellow paper. Cut out the next sentence glue it and again add more details about what it says. Follow this pattern all the way through the story.

For this reason, there is NO READING OR SPELLING HOMEWORK TONIGHT. Please correct any spelling and grammar errors. Encourage them to give descriptive details. The students were directed to use their Mind Maps to organize their essay on " ______my favorite place to visit! Make sure they write neatly.

If your child was paying attention and writing down what I was showing them, your child only needs to complete # 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 23, 24, 25, 26, 28, 29, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37 = 19 problems. IF your child lost focus and was not paying attention, or failed to copy what I had written, they will be complaining about too much homework. Dear Parents,
Wearing a costume on Halloween is not mandatory. But many students like having their friends at school see their costume so we have "Characters on parade" starting at 8:30 on Wednesday morning.

The students have voted to buy Pizza for the class for their CELEBRATE THE HARVEST party. Please send $5.00, this will cover their pizza, drinks, and a small dessert, plus the cost of paper plates and cups and napkins. For those students that do not celebrate Halloween, do not keep them home. Except for the characters on parade (when they will read in the library), the other lessons for that day are fun but not Halloween oriented. So your child would miss some great lessons in the classroom if they stayed home all day.

LANGUAGE : read both sides of the friendly letter format, fill in any blanks and follow all directions

SPELLING ; At home practice spelling test- The student gets a parent to say the words, while the student writes each word on a separate piece of paper . All 20 words are spelling words! Once all twenty spelling words have been written, compare how the student wrote the word to the correct word on the spelling list . Any word that is not spelled correctly, should be written correctly 10 times. Parent signs the paper and student brings it in for the teacher to see.

REMEMBER TO READ ALOUD FOR YOUR PARENT FOR AT LEAST 20 MINUTES EVERY WEEKDAY NIGHT. After reading you put the NAME OF THE BOOK in column 7 of your planner and your PARENT WRITES THEIR INITIALS in column 8 to verify that you read it to them.

LANGUAGE : Read the class rules with Mom or Dad, and discuss their meanings. Then neatly copy the class rules on the white piece of paper, and the parent must sign the bottom.
Separate the pages and keep the goldenrod copy at home, the white copy come back to class on Tuesday.

READING : Read each poem to your parent and write a complete sentence answer to each of the 6 questions.

Read for twenty minutes and list the name of the book in the second to the last column. And have Mom or Dad, put their initials in the last column to testify that you did that 20 minutes of reading.
