RUSD Dual Language Immersion Programs: Mandarin at Shelyn!

Rowland Unified Dual Language Immersion Programs, offered for both Spanish and Mandarin, provides students unlimited opportunities and prepares them to be Bilingual, Biliterate and Bicultural. They learn how to read, speak and write in two languages: English and Chinese OR English and Spanish.
The programs start in Kindergarten. We are proud to offer our Mandarin Dual Immersion Program at Shelyn Elementary, and our Spanish Dual Immersion Programs are at two schools: Rorimer and Hurley.
Priority enrollment for the 2019/20 school year is February 4 through March 4, 2019. For more information call our Special Projects Office at (626)854-8392.

Mrs. Opatkiewicz takes the ALS ice bucket challenge

After being challenged by Mr. Martinez, Villacorta Principal, Mrs. Opatkiewicz took the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge to raise funds for ALS in honor of Louise Stellmacher beloved 6th grade teacher. she then challenged Ybarra Academy, Bob Withers at Rowland High School and Alvarado Intermediate School's admin team to take the challenge and raise funds for ALS.
